Curriculum Vitae Dipl.-Phys. Alexander M. BACH, Founder, Patent Attorney and CEO

After graduating from the Technical High School in Bruchsal, Alexander studied computer science and physics at the University of Karlsruhe. Accompanying his studies, Alexander worked at the Institute for Meterology of the former Karlsruhe Research Center (today KIT) as well as at the former Institute for Chemical Technologies of the Fraunhofer Society with various scientific publications, where he also wrote his diploma thesis.

After training in a patent law firm in the Rhineland, legal clerkships at the German Patent and Trademark Office and the Federal Patent Court, and a subsequent voluntary clerkship at the Munich I District Court, Alexander was admitted to the patent bar and initially worked as a freelancer in various patent law firms, including in Cologne.

After these "journeyman years" Alexander founded this intellectual property law firm PATENTANWALTSKANZLEI BACH in Cologne at the turn of the millennium and establishing it in the region Cologne - Bonn - Siegburg especially with the technical-scientific expertise of physics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering among others in connection with software-based or computer-based inventions and intelligent networks. From his time in the natural sciences, Alexander is still associated with materials science and materials engineering. In addition, Alexander now has good experience in safety products, respiratory protection devices, medical and drug products, as well as chemical and biological technologies (e.g. laboratory and industrial equipment), many topics in (car) mobility and artificial intelligence.

In 2020, Alexander established a branch office of PATENTANWALTSKANZLEI BACH in Bruchsal, Baden-Württemberg, connecting the business locations of southwestern Germany from Baden-Baden via Karlsruhe, Bruchsal, Heidelberg, Mannheim, Ludwigshafen with those of the Northern Rhineland around Cologne via the Rhineland axis Cologne - Bruchsal. Of course, the neighboring rural areas, such as Rhine-Hunsrück, Rhine-Lahn, Middle Rhine, Rhine-Westerwald, Siebengebirge, Bergisches Land and Eifel and the Rhine metropolises Mainz, Koblenz, Bonn, Siegburg are also included.

In the legal field of intellectual property, Alexander specializes in applications and litigation, oppositions, appeals and freedom-to-operate opinions as well as monetary evaluation opinions. He is successful in both IP applications and all proceedings concerning IP infringement as well as any defense, maintenance, licensing and assignment procedure respecively to IP rights. He also offers employers the best support with regard to the legal requirements of the German Employee Invention Act.

Alexander's clients include individuals and companies, as well as research institutes of universities, colleges and universities of applied sciences, for whom he provides. He is providing all IP Services to IP colleagues from abroad as well.
